FAQs

What’s your process?

  1. Discovery and brief. We have a conversation about your campaign or shoot—concept, audience, shot list, timeline, location, etc. Whether you’re planning a lifestyle shoot in Orlando, Tampa, Miami or somewhere else, I’ll ask how you’ll use the stills or motion so we can align creative direction and licensing.

  2. Planning and quoting. After the call, I prepare a detailed estimate with a creative fee, licensing and production costs. If you already have a producer or agency, I can plug right into that team; if not, I’ll assemble a trusted crew and handle the logistics for your commercial or advertising project.

  3. Shoot days. On set I run calm, efficient shoots where talent and clients feel comfortable. I focus on lighting, directing people and capturing moments that reflect your brand’s voice.

  4. Delivery. Once everything is edited you’ll receive a curated gallery of selects, from which you’ll select your final high‑resolution images (slightly different for video) My goal is to deliver polished commercial photography and motion assets you can use across print, digital and social—without surprises or hidden costs.

Where do you work?

I’m based in Central Florida but regularly travel across the state and beyond. Most of my work happens in Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Jacksonville, with frequent trips to Atlanta and other U.S. cities. I have a valid passport and am happy to shoot international campaigns. Travel fees depend on the scope and location of each commercial photography project.

What do you specialize in?

I’m a commercial lifestyle and advertising photographer/director focused on people. My work ranges from stills to motion, capturing real stories in a polished, authentic style. Clients hire me for lifestyle campaigns, editorial portraits, social content and image libraries that combine photography and directing. If your project involves people and storytelling, I’d love to help.

What sort of clients do you work with?

I collaborate with marketing teams, art directors and creative directors at brands and agencies across travel and tourism, healthcare and pharma, hospitality, finance and other industries. From Orlando startups to national brands in New York and Los Angeles, I scale productions from solo shoots to larger crews. I can act as photographer, director or both, depending on what your project requires.

Will you photograph my wedding or family photos?

Nope, I don’t photograph weddings, family sessions or other consumer portrait work. My focus is commercial and editorial photography and directing for brands and agencies. If you’re looking for a commercial photographer in Orlando, Tampa, Miami or elsewhere to support advertising, lifestyle campaigns or corporate storytelling, I’m your guy.

How do you price your work?

Every assignment is customized. I charge a creative fee based on the brief and deliverables, licensing fees tied to how your brand or agency will use the images or video, and production costs like crew, locations and equipment. Whether you need a lean one-day lifestyle shoot in Orlando or a multi-day advertising campaign in Miami, let me know your budget range and I’ll tailor an estimate.

About Brian

photo of Brian Carlson Stills & Motion

I’m a Central Florida–based professional photographer specializing in campaign-ready commercial lifestyle photography & video for brands, agencies, and internal creative teams across Florida and the Southeast. I’m a people watcher at heart, always tuned in to the small, in-between moments most folks miss.

Every project is built around what the client actually needs, so the images feel specific, not generic. I lean on both instinct and solid technical chops to make work that tells a clear story and feels alive on screen or in print.

On set, I keep things professional, collaborative, and pretty relaxed. I work closely with my crew from first conversation to final delivery so the process feels organized and straightforward. Whether it’s a personal project or a full advertising campaign, I show up prepared, curious, and aiming high, usually with at least one dad joke along the way.
