11 Questions with JP and Julia from Hellthy Junk Food in Orlando
You can’t deny people are awesome. Who doesn’t like sitting down with good friends to ask them interesting, insightful, and funny questions? That’s what 11 Questions is about. I’ll be featuring some friends I look up to as well as people within the Orlando community I’ve always wanted to get to know by asking them 11 Questions (go figure) and doing an advertising style photoshoot with them.
A few months ago Brendan O’Connor put Hellthy Junk Food on my radar. After watching a few of their YouTube videos and discovering they were located in Orlando I thought they’d be perfect for 11 Questions. Turns out I was right (score!). Julia, JP, and I brainstormed a bunch of ideas and settled on a few that shined like the high noon sun. It was all fun and games until it was time to get down to business. What was business? Having JP and Julia shove platefuls of spaghetti in their mouths, seeing if they had what it takes to work the kitchen line, and giving their black eyes relief via junk food (it was makeup!). Who do you look up to?
We look up to positivity. People who love life, keep judgment silent, help others, work hard and respect opposition.
Favorite book, album, or musician who has impacted your life?
There's a book titled: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, which can benefit anyone who allows to absorb the messages and ideaology of handling life and it's many struggles.
If you could mate two different species of animals what would they be?
If we could mate two different species of animals, it would have to be a dog and a cat because that wouldn't be too detrimental on society, but also could potentially provide an interesting companion and of course viral content on the internet.
Who in your life has inspired you?
Our inspiration is the same answer as question 1.
What are you proud of?
We are proud that we never gave up. We never made excuses when times got difficult, we made improvements, we adapted, we learned from others and showed up, pushed ourselves past our comfort and achieved greatness through hard work and perseverance.
What rejuvenates you?
Creator events, conventions, meetups, creative writing, hanging around like minded people, all these things combined in some fashion rejuvenates us.
Is there anything you haven't done yet which you feel compelled to do?
JP: My dream is to audition for a role in a movie and eventually get the role. It's something I've wanted to do since the age of 4. And although life gets in the way, if the opportunity presented itself I would take it.
Julia: I would love to be more involved in a fitness community, such as teaching yoga, or anything related to bettering our health.
How do you balance your personal and professional life?
We have learned to prioritize what makes us happy as long as it does not negatively affect our professional life. Sometimes it is important to know when to put work aside to focus on your mental health.
Best place to eat in Orlando?
JP: The best place to eat in Orlando is Beefy King, because it stands for eveything I am about. Combines local vibes with the quick service style, affordable price and absolutely no way to order something wrong. The menu is simple enough to pick what you like and get it the way you want.
Julia: I love East End Market. It combines quality, beauty and variety. It's local, delicious & iconic.
How do you hope to be remembered?
We hope to be remembered as good people. It might seem simple, but just being a good person is actually a great thing.
If you were to choose a different career what would it be?
JP: If I choose a different career it would be a part time game show host. That way I don't have to do it all the time, but enjoy the fun of being a game show host. Let's be honest, there's not a huge turnover for game show hosts, so I'm assuming it's a pretty fun job.
Julia: I've always wanted to be a musician and a singer songwriter as I have a degree in music industry from my time in college.
