Medicare Lifestyle Image Library for CarePlus in Central Florida
A Lifestyle Image Library for CarePlus, a Medicare Provider
CarePlus is a Medicare provider based in South Florida. This library was shot in Central Florida over two days: a community health center out on the edges of town, a home near downtown by Lake Ivanhoe, real spaces standing in for the stock photography they didn't want.
What they needed
A full image library. Healthcare marketing photography that could run across their community centers, their wellness programs, and their everyday member-facing materials. Not one hero shot. A year of usable images for all sorts of messaging.
The problem nobody puts in the brief
The schedule was aggressive: two days to cover a long list of locations around Central Florida, with no room to spare. That schedule got locked before day one. There's no renegotiating a shot list once you're on location and the light is fading.
How we solved it
With an excellent crew. Wardrobe, hair and makeup, and a prop stylist packed up and moved with us from location to location, so we didn't lose time between setups. We cast professional lifestyle models and I directed them like real people, not talent: no posed smiles, no looking at the camera unless the shot called for it. The shot list was built around real-feeling scenes instead of generic ones: someone doing their finances at the kitchen table, groceries coming out of the trunk, a woman painting in the park, a group laughing mid-game on a pickleball court.
My favorite frame from the shoot proves the point. A grandfather and his "grandson" on the couch, the kid holding a stethoscope like he was about to diagnose him. That kid was a riot and kept making the guy genuinely laugh between takes. I caught one of those laughs completely unscripted. That's the difference between directing people well and just posing them: you build the setup, then you wait for the real thing to happen inside it.
The opinion
Here is where I will lose some people. If your Medicare photography could just as easily be captioned "senior portrait session," you have the wrong photographer. The people CarePlus serves are not a demographic to photograph gently. They are running businesses, raising grandkids, doing yoga, moving houses. Shoot the life, not the age bracket.
What the client got
Across two days, CarePlus walked away with around 50 final images spanning community centers, in-home moments, outdoor activity, and multigenerational family scenes. Enough work across a year of campaigns without repeating much. These ended up running across social, the website, a billboard, and likely in some of their locations too. Months later, they brought us back for a studio shoot to round out the library further, which is usually the best sign a shoot worked.
Questions people ask before hiring
Do you cast real people or professional models? Professional models on this one, styled and directed for a lifestyle look. The goal isn't documentary realism, it's making sure the images read as real moments instead of a stock library.
Do you get releases from everyone in frame? Yes. Every person photographed gave permission and was paid.
How many images do we actually get? It depends on the schedule and setups. This one ran two days and came in around 50 final images.
Do you work with our agency or production company, or do we need to manage that ourselves? Either. On this shoot I worked directly alongside an agency and production company. I can also bring on my producer if you don't have one in place.
