The Garage in Ethiopia

I found out a brother of a friend of a friend owns an upholstery & mechanic shop here in Ethiopia. Being someone who loves to take environmental portraits of the working class I ask if I could stop by to take some pictures. Thankfully they said yes. I love these kinds of places because they have so much character and oftentimes the people are so willing to be photographed. In 3.5 hours we managed to get 6 good setups, all shot with 1 light. It was a little hectic but well worth the effort. Big shoutout to my friend and his friend and his brother for allowing me to do this and helping with lighting!

After the shoot I had the photos printed so the subjects could get a copy. It was a great experience for everyone and I’m pleased with how they turned out.
