Commercial Lifestyle & Advertising Photography.

Orlando and beyond.

Every photograph in this gallery started the same way: a real person doing something they actually do, lit and directed so nobody would guess there was a shot list. I call it planned spontaneity, the actual craft behind lifestyle photography, and after 20 years shooting commercial and advertising work across Florida it's still the part of the job I care about most.

A commercial lifestyle photographer is hired by a brand or agency to make images of real people using a product or service, images built to make a viewer feel something about the brand, shot and licensed for advertising use. Most projects in this gallery aren't a single hero shot. They're image libraries: a stock of on-brand photography and video from single or multi-day shoots that a marketing team pulls from for a year of campaigns, web pages, and social posts. I break down what that costs and how licensing works in why professional photography and video cost what they do, and go deeper on what separates a lifestyle photographer from a general photographer in what is a commercial or advertising lifestyle photographer.

The work splits into a few areas. Healthcare and health insurance is the biggest, with image libraries and campaign work for Humana, CarePlus, Comfort Keepers and CVS. Tourism and hospitality runs close behind, including a crew of about 20 covering stills and motion on the same shoot day for Palm Coast & Flagler Beaches. Then corporate and office culture, retail and small business brands, and homebuilders, where homebuilder lifestyle photography in Orlando put families into a brand-new amenity center at Meridian Parks. All of it is on the case studies page.

I'm based in Orlando and shoot statewide (Tampa, Miami, St. Augustine, Sarasota, St. Pete), and I split time in Atlanta for production and agency work there too. Clients have included Disney Institute, Netflix, CVS, Humana, Thinkwell/TAIT, Magnolia Journal, Wall St. Journal Magazine, and Waddell Media in the UK, across travel, tourism, health, pharma, retail, and tech.

If a project needs video alongside stills, they usually come out of the same shoot day. See how that pairs on the motion page. Productions also hire me for unit stills on film, TV and commercial sets. And if you’re looking to hire a photographer, how to find and hire the right photographer for your brand walks through what to ask before you commit to one.
